About this policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on Acca Agent, why we use them and how you can control them. Acca Agent is operated by Take a Touch Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, company no. 17284028 ("we", "us").

A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser. "Similar technologies" here means your browser's local storage, which saves small settings on your device. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, we may only use cookies without asking you first if they are strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for. The cookies Acca Agent sets itself are strictly necessary. The only optional ones are X's advertising cookies, which we only use if you accept them in our cookie notice.

Cookies we set

These cookies are set by Acca Agent itself (first-party) and are essential, so they can't be switched off:

Advertising cookies (only if you accept)

We advertise on X. If you accept marketing cookies, we load X's website tag (the "X pixel") so we can see which of our ads on X lead to visits, sign-ups and subscriptions. It tells X that you visited Acca Agent, which pages you viewed and whether you signed up, started a free week or subscribed, along with your IP address and browser details. We also send these conversions to X from our server, with your IP address, browser details, X's ad click id and a hashed (one-way scrambled) copy of your email address, so X can match them to its own records; X can't read your email from it. It doesn't send X your name, your email address in readable form, or anything about your bets.

X sets its own cookies to do this: _twpid on our site, and cookies such as personalization_id, guest_id and muc_ads on x.com and ads-twitter.com. X decides how long these last and may use the information to show you ads, under X's privacy policy and cookie policy.

If you don't accept, or choose Reject, the X pixel isn't loaded and none of this is sent. You can change your mind at any time in Cookie settings; switching it off clears the X cookie on our site and stops the pixel loading.

Settings saved on your device

Acca Agent saves two display preferences in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and we can't read them:

flux.appearance: whether you chose the light or dark display.
flux-sidebar-collapsed-desktop: whether you collapsed the side menu.

Analytics without cookies

We count visits and sign-ups with Plausible Analytics. Plausible sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and doesn't follow you to other websites. It never stores your IP address: it is only used, together with your browser details, to count unique visitors for a single day, after which it can't be linked back to you. We only ever see totals, such as how many people visited a page.

Other websites and services

Fonts: our pages load their typeface from Google Fonts. Your browser contacts Google's servers to download it, which shares your IP address and browser details with Google. Google doesn't set cookies for this.
Payments: when you start a free week, subscribe or manage billing, you go to Stripe's secure pages on stripe.com. Stripe sets its own cookies there to process payments and prevent fraud. See Stripe's cookie policy.
Google sign-in: if you choose "Continue with Google", you sign in on Google's pages, where Google's cookie policy applies.
Links to other sites, such as our page on X, GamCare or GAMSTOP, are covered by those sites' own cookie policies.

Managing cookies

You can switch X's advertising cookies on or off at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Our own cookies are essential and can't be switched off there.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block our essential cookies you won't be able to sign in, and deleting them will sign you out. Clearing your browser's site data also resets the display settings above. Your browser's help pages explain how, for example for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if the cookies we use change, and change the date at the top. If we ever want to use cookies that aren't essential, we will ask for your consent first.
